Kohler Co. has appointed Nina Kohler as Chief Executive Officer – Hospitality, effective immediately, placing her in charge of strategy, growth, and guest experience across the company's multi-property portfolio spanning Wisconsin, Illinois, and St. Andrews, Scotland. The move comes as Kohler accelerates a multi-year capital investment cycle at its flagship Wisconsin destination — one with direct implications for how the resort operates and monetizes its dining, wellness, and recreation assets.
Nina Kohler joins from a four-year advisory role in which she shaped the brand's long-term positioning and modernization strategy. The company reported consecutive years of record performance in 2024 and 2025, a run that coincided with her strategic involvement.
The Expansion Pipeline
The build-out underway at Kohler, Wisconsin represents one of the more ambitious hospitality capital programs in the Midwest. Completed projects include the renovation of the Forbes Five-Star Kohler Waters Spa, the conversion of The Carriage House into an adults-only wellness retreat with 55 redesigned guest rooms, and the reopening of Woodlake Market as a gourmet food hall spotlighting regional producers and Wisconsin makers — a format that mirrors the food-hall-as-destination model gaining traction across upscale resort and urban hospitality operators.
The pipeline adds further scale. The Inn on Woodlake will gain 66 guest rooms and suites. Bucks & Birdies — a golf and entertainment venue combining interactive golf simulators, racing simulators, duckpin bowling, dining, and social programming — represents a bet on the simulator-driven entertainment category that has drawn significant investment from operators nationwide. Purebred Farm, a 14-hole King Collins Dormer-designed course west of Blackwolf Run, rounds out the golf offering. Together, these additions diversify the resort's revenue streams well beyond traditional room nights and covers.
Operating Complexity at Scale
Kohler Hospitality's footprint — 12 dining establishments, multiple spa locations, championship golf venues, and properties in two countries — presents genuine operational complexity. For operators tracking labor management, point-of-sale integration across diverse F&B concepts, and guest-experience technology, Kohler's expansion is a useful case study in how legacy destination resorts are engineering growth through concept diversification rather than pure room-count expansion.
The food hall format at Woodlake Market, for instance, requires multi-vendor POS and inventory coordination, a challenge that has driven adoption of cloud-native restaurant management platforms across similar projects. The simulator entertainment category at Bucks & Birdies sits at the intersection of hospitality, gaming, and F&B — a convergence increasingly served by unified booking and revenue management tools.
As CEO, Nina Kohler will oversee these investments alongside the existing leadership team. "Our opportunity is not simply to add more," she said. "It is to give people enduring reasons to return, and to be as careful about what we preserve as about what we add."
For hospitality and foodservice technology vendors, a destination resort in active expansion mode — diversifying into food halls, wellness, and entertainment — represents a meaningful procurement cycle for property management, digital ordering, and guest-experience platforms.
Kohler's approach also reflects broader trends in resort F&B strategy, where operators are layering in high-margin experiential revenue — simulator bays, curated retail, wellness programming — to reduce dependence on traditional room and banquet revenue.
