Hotel guest-experience platform Enseo has enlisted Richard Tudgay, former Chief Technology Officer of Remington Hospitality, as a strategy consultant — a move designed to tighten the feedback loop between operator pain points and the company's product roadmap. Tudgay will work directly with Enseo's leadership to align the platform's technology direction with the practical demands of hoteliers and their guests.

Deep Operator Pedigree

Tudgay's credentials carry significant weight on the operator side of the table. He spent more than 14 years at Omni Hotels & Resorts, progressing from Director of IT to VP of Technology, before serving as CTO at Highgate Hotels for nearly a decade. Most recently he held the top technology role at Remington Hospitality — giving him firsthand exposure to the full spectrum of select-service and full-service property operations across multiple ownership and management structures. That breadth is precisely what Enseo says it is trying to tap.

"Having spent much of my career on the hotel side, I've seen firsthand the challenges operators face when balancing guest expectations, operational efficiency and technology investments," Tudgay said. "What impressed me most about Enseo is its willingness to listen to customers and evolve its platform around real operational needs, not just new features."

What It Means for the Platform

Enseo's core stack covers in-room entertainment, managed WiFi, hotel marketing, proactive property monitoring, and employee safety devices — all areas where the gap between vendor roadmaps and front-desk or engineering realities can be costly. Brian Gurley, Enseo's CEO, framed the hire as a mechanism for closing that gap: "Richard has spent decades making technology decisions from the hotel operator's perspective, giving him an exceptional understanding of what our customers — and their guests — value most."

For a platform competing in a crowded guest-experience segment that includes solutions from established hospitality-tech vendors, operator-validated product development is increasingly a differentiator. Hotels scrutinizing SaaS spend want technology partners that can demonstrate they understand throughput at the front desk, housekeeping workflow, and the downstream impact of in-room connectivity failures on guest satisfaction scores — not just feature counts. Tudgay's background across large managed portfolios positions him to stress-test Enseo's roadmap against those operational realities.

Enseo has built a 26-year track record in the hotel technology space and points to an industry-leading customer retention rate as evidence that its operator-first posture is already resonating. Adding a consultant with C-suite hotel-side experience is consistent with a broader trend among hospitality-tech vendors pursuing deeper integration with property management and operations workflows. As hotels push toward more personalized digital guest journeys, platforms that can demonstrate co-development with operators — rather than top-down feature deployment — are better positioned to win long-term contracts and expand average contract value.

The appointment also signals continued investment in strategic advisory structures that bridge vendor and operator perspectives, a model gaining traction as hotel brands demand greater accountability from their technology partners heading into a period of renewed capital discipline across the industry.
