Former Remington Hospitality CEO Sloan Dean has launched AI Hospitality Group (AIHG), positioning it as the hospitality industry's first AI-native hotel operating company — and closing a $7.5 million seed round to back the ambition. The round was led by Rackhouse Venture Capital with participation from Sierra Ventures and Dynamo Ventures, along with strategic angels from across hotel ownership, brand leadership, and technology.
AIHG's core thesis is structural, not incremental. Rather than licensing software to existing operators, the company signs the hotel management agreement directly with owners, then deploys a proprietary agentic orchestration layer to run back-office functions — recruiting, accounting, revenue management, and marketing — while keeping guest-facing teams fully human. Dean frames this as an AINS model, shorthand for AI-native services, a category articulated by Emergence Capital in 2024 for companies that use AI to deliver outcomes rather than sell dashboards.
The Operating Problem
The macro case for AIHG is hard to argue with. U.S. hotel EBITDA margins have eroded roughly 20 percent since 2019. CMBS delinquency rates for limited-service hotels reached 8.35 percent in July 2025, more than double their 2022 low. Sixty-five percent of North American hotels reported staffing shortages in 2025, with labor costs rising 11.2 percent year over year. "The industry has spent a decade buying software while EBITDA margins eroded from roughly 30 percent to 20 percent," Dean said. "AIHG isn't another vendor selling a dashboard. We sign the management agreement, take responsibility for the P&L, and deliver the outcome."
The technical architecture behind the model centers on an agentic orchestration layer built atop a unified data architecture that ingests more than 20 disparate data sources into a single semantic model. That consolidation enables AI agents to execute end-to-end workflows without the hand-offs and reconciliation delays that fragment traditional hotel back offices. Co-Founder and CTO Kishan Dahya — a third-generation hotelier who pivoted to software engineering and venture capital before founding a venture-backed software company — led the build. LangChain, a leading framework for agentic AI systems, has cited his infrastructure work publicly.
Early Deployments and the Team
AIHG launches with two design partnerships. The Ameswell Hotel, a premium independent property in Mountain View, California, and two properties within the Parable Hospitality portfolio — a 30-plus-hotel management platform covering California and Hawaii — are the first live deployments. Both engagements measure agents against KPIs including time-to-hire reduction, RFP response speed, and revenue forecast accuracy, giving AIHG real-world performance data across a single-asset independent and a multi-brand operator simultaneously.
Chief Operating Officer Eve Moore, who joins from Magna Hospitality Group where she served as Executive Vice President of Operations, owns the on-property model — including the critical judgment call about which workflows stay with people and which the agents run. Founding Partner Zach Cunningham leads data and analytics. The advisory board includes David Kong, former CEO of BWH Hotel Group, and Steven Nicholas, Managing Principal of Noble Investment Group, among others. Kevin Novak, General Partner of Rackhouse Venture Capital and formerly Uber's first Head of Data Science, joins as Board Observer.
For operators tracking where hotel-tech investment is flowing and how revenue management systems are being reimagined through agentic AI, AIHG represents a meaningful structural bet: that the management company layer itself — not just the software stack sitting beneath it — is ready for an AI-native rebuild. The $7.5 million seed will fund platform expansion and onboarding of AIHG's first wave of managed hotels as the company begins reviewing management agreements across full-service, lifestyle, and independent properties.
